Tour Details
After convenient pick-up at your hotel, we will depart Anchorage at 9:30am to drive along the spectacular Turnagain Arm. Keep your eyes peeled for beluga whales in the inlet, Dall sheep on the cliffs, and moose in the meadows. We will stop at the scenic Beluga Point overlook for pictures before heading to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to view native Alaska wildlife including muskox, caribou (my favorite!), brown bears, and more. Then we will drive down the charming Portage Valley replete with waterfalls and glaciers, making several stops to enjoy its natural beauty and take pictures. On our return trip, we will eat lunch (included) at a local eatery in the small, picturesque town of Girdwood situated in temperate rainforest. We will return to Anchorage by 4pm, making additional stops (i.e. for fish, bird, or waterfall viewing) as time and opportunity allows. Snacks will also be provided.
